Hi All,

I have a set of two elevators, each with a capacity of 8. Both elevators serve the same destinations, either Level 2 or Level 3, based on a probability. Currently, both elevators tend to go down to Level 1 to pick up passengers, and passengers randomly choose an elevator to ride.

For example, if two passengers arrive, sometimes both elevators are called to Level 1, and each passenger takes a separate elevator. Other times, one elevator comes down, and both passengers enter it. This behavior doesn’t align with real-life scenarios. In reality, only one elevator would be dispatched, and both passengers would board that elevator (assuming there is sufficient capacity). If another passenger calls for an elevator while the first one is still busy transporting other passenger, only then would the second elevator come down to pick them up.

I’m seeking guidance on how to replicate this logic using the Extra Library elevator. I’ve attempted to implement custom logic and routing rules, but these haven’t produced the desired result.

Your time and assistance would be greatly appreciated. If there’s an existing post that addresses this specific issue, sharing the link would be extremely helpful. If a model is needed for clarification, I’d be happy to recreate the issue using a smaller example.

Thank you!

Dear @dsturrock,

I was able to use a lot of your insights previously to answer critical questions for my models. I was hoping if you would be able to help me with this question. Your time would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Omar
